According to Cruz-Angeles, Paredes "pushed and shoved the kids" who were merely "exercising their constitutional right to assembly and to believe as they do."

A Facebook video has been making round showing Paredes in a heated argument with one of the pro-Duterte protester. Paredes, who shouted "Look me in the eye," even called them "cowardS" at one point in the video.

Cruz-Angeles speculated that the presence of Duterte supporters in the rally affronted Paredes' group because the move spoke "volumes about how selective, how condescending and how cavalier" they are about those whose views differ from theirs.

"This is our country as much as it is yours. Maybe more, unless you've given up your Australian residency. It is our constitution. And that man in Malacanang is OUR president," Cruz-Angeles wrote on her Facebook.

She also pointed out that it was Paredes who started the argument despite being left alone. According to her, pro-Duterte individuals have "raised a hand" against their detractors, "not even the people you accuse of inhumanity."

Towards them end, Cruz-Angeles claimed that Paredes deserved shame for bullying the "men who had the guts to express themselves" and stand up against them.
