Fearless netizens slam Callamard: 'Go to Syria and Africa, your attention is much needed there!'
Agnes Callamard, the U.N. Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial killings, is currently in our country to participate in an academic conference.

On Friday, May 5, she gave a speech at a policy forum at the University of the Philippines, and explained she is not here for an official visit thus would not carry out any research.

Because of this unannounced visit of Callamard, the Philippine government has directed its representatives to the UN to complain such, said Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella.

"This is a matter we have asked our representatives at the United Nations to take up with their United Nations counterparts and it is something our delegation in Geneva will certainly be raising during their current visit," Abella said in a statement.

Callamard, during her speech at UP, she emphasized that that war on drugs campaign is not effective and will only make the problem on illegal substance worse, instead of solving it.

This statement of Callamard sparked outrage from netizens. They reacted with aversion on social media.
